We don't manufacture much in Australia anymore. Many of our well known brands are now owned by overseas companies or are made in China. What we still have is an abundance of fresh, local produce. I think, the best in the world. Yet, why is it that we have opened the doors to apples grown in China?
Australians, if you value our lifestyle, quality of fresh produce and the hard working people on the land, please buy Australian fresh produce. It's the best quality, it's seasonal, and you're supporting Australia and Australians prosperity. By supporting imported fruit from China, you're supporting inferior product and the continuation of cheap third world labour.
If you have never done so, I'd suggest visiting an orchard in Tasmania or Stanthorpe, Qld where you can see the fruit growing on the trees and you can see and talk to the people who grow our fruit.
